Charm Swap 2012
Welcome to the Appleseed Quilt Guild Charm Swap. By participating in a 5 inch charm swap, you can turn a half yard of one fabric into 24 different charm squares. To participate, accurately cut 5 inch squares of one or more fabrics in the colorway called for that month. You will package twenty 5" squares in a baggie with your name on it. The squares can be of the same fabric, but don't need to be. In other words, if you are trying to get rid of some smaller pieces of fabric, you can cut a few of this, and a few of that, in the same color. Just make sure there are 20 of the same color in the baggie with your name on it.
You will turn it in at the Guild meeting, and you will receive 20 different squares back to you! You can turn in more than 20 squares, just make sure they are in baggies of 20, The more you turn in, the more you get back.
Please bring only "quilt shop quality" fabrics, and unwashed, if possible. We all have old outdated fabric that we would love to get rid of, but this is not the time. This is meant to be a way to create a workable and current stash, not see how many calicos for the 80s we can collect. Also, bring them unwashed, but if they are already washed and in your stash, go ahead and bring them.
FEBRUARY: The colors, pink and chocolate, can be prints or solids, but must "read" that color when viewed from 5 feet away. This month we will cut pinks and chocolates for Valentines Day. You will package 20 pink squares in a baggie with your name on it, and 20 chocolate squares in a baggie with your name on it.
