Click on a month below for a link to the block, instructions and the color lesson for that month

July   August   September
October   November   December
January   February   March
April   May   June

This year we will be using Joen Wolfrom's book Color Play and learning how to use the Ives Color Wheel to create more dramatic effects with color in our quilting. Joen bases her entire color discussion on the Ives Color Wheel, since it is the color wheel used for fabric dying. Instead of the usual twelve color segments you find in most color wheels, the Ives wheel uses 24. Joen has been lecturing and teaching in the quilting world since 1984 and has published several books. She has graciously given us her permission to use her book so, get ready to take a sure to be interesting spin around the color wheel.

This year's blocks were selected for their secondary pattern effect and they can be found on Marcia Hohn’s website www.quilterscache.com. Please take a moment to read the Terms of Use. These patterns are for personal use only.

Each month when you turn in your finished block you will receive a ticket giving you a chance to take home all the blocks that are turned in. And remember to save those ticket stubs for the drawing at the end of the year for a chance to win quilting by Kat Waterson of the Quilting Kat for one moderate-sized pieced top, batting and backing. So even if you haven't won any blocks you could still win free quilting.

Have Fun, and try not to get too dizzy on this interesting spin!!

If you have any problems obtaining your block-of-the-month instructions contact the block of the month chairperson. Printed instructions will be available at Guild meetings.

***NOTE: All blocks will be twelve inches square when sewn into the quilt top, and so, should measure twelve and one half inches square when you turn them in.
