Kira Hartley Klinger is the owner and curator of DodOddity who hunts for vintage fabrics from all over and sources them for her store.  For the quilts that get handed down that need some care or finishing, this is a great place to look.

Kira will be our guest speaker and talk about how she finds the fabrics and the stories that come with the search.  She will bring a selection of her fabrics for sale.  Her book “Fabric Wars”, will also be available for purchase.      Check out her Etsy page at https://www.etsy.com/shop/DodOddity

QUILTS OF THE UNDERGROUD RAILROAD

Our presenter for our evening Guild meeting is Sharon Zonker. She is a retired teacher and long-time Civil War "Buff". Over the years, Sharon has gathered stories and information focusing on the UNDERGROUND ROADROAD.

Sharon herself is a quilter and will focus on the importance of quilting in this monumental way.  There were specific quilt blocks that were integral to the success of the Underground Railroad. Those blocks in a quilt that gave the preparatory plan and then directions on that important path to freedom for those escaping slavery.
