TRADITIONAL
TO MODERN

Rona Herman, known as the Traveling Quilter, will be our guest speaker for our Guild meeting. As “Rona the Ribitter”, Rona has the only travel blog that provides every day quilters with the tips and tools to confidently pursue their quilting dreams...

For this evening, Rona will focus on her TRADITIONAL TO MODERN presentation. She will highlight ways to be creative using the familiar traditional quilt blocks in your repertoire. Be inspired to look at your blocks in a whole new way. She will also be vending her original patterns.

QUILTS OF THE UNDERGROUD RAILROAD

Our presenter for our evening Guild meeting is Sharon Zonker. She is a retired teacher and long-time Civil War "Buff". Over the years, Sharon has gathered stories and information focusing on the UNDERGROUND ROADROAD.

Sharon herself is a quilter and will focus on the importance of quilting in this monumental way.  There were specific quilt blocks that were integral to the success of the Underground Railroad. Those blocks in a quilt that gave the preparatory plan and then directions on that important path to freedom for those escaping slavery.
